Applying for many internal vacancies
Please help, I apply for most of internal vacancies at my work place when I meet the requirements. Most of them, I have been called for interviews but never succeeded. How can I deal with this one?
Thank you in advance.
Well, as they are in your workplace you are in the perfect position to find out why. Ask!!
If you have a Human Resources department, ask for a meeting with whoever in HR handled the last vacancy, and explain that you are keen to progress in your career, and would like some feedback on the reasons your application was not successful. They may be able to look at a few vacancies for you and give you some pointers.
Maybe they will ask the manager who was recruiting for their feedback, or even arrange a meeting for you with them.
You may want to talk to a few people about a few vacancies so that you can see if there is a consistent reason that you were not selected.
You say you are usually called for interview, so maybe it is your interview technique that needs some work. Perhaps you would benefit from rereading this section of the website
There is a danger that by applying for most of internal vacancies at my work place when I meet the requirements, you are giving the impression that you are not so much interested in the job advertised as getting out of your current position.
Hope this has helped
