I have read all your career advice and found it to be very helpful. But I don’t want to work for a company, I want to run my own poultry business.

There are a couple of points to address here; –

We can only offer you general advice and guidance on starting and running a business, as we have no knowledge or experience of poultry management, or of the many other sectors we are regularly asked to advise on. The basic principles of managing a business are pretty universal and that is what we offer you. We do recommend that you have some knowledge of the sector in which you intend to operate ; If you don’t already have that, then you should research it very carefully and ideally ask someone already in the sector to let you have a little hands on experience with them before you start making any plans.

We are a small private company; we don’t receive any grant finance so are not in the position of being able to give seed funding to anyone I’m afraid. However, we do offer some advice on how to approach Banks and Financiers in our Starting a Business module.

The material is divided into short courses. You can take any course at a time that suits you. Course duration depends on which modules you select. Each one lasts around 6-8 weeks. You receive a short module every few days by email.

Once you have completed a section, we email the quiz to you, and you take it online. Then using an automatic software system, an email is sent to you which records your score, and a link to download a quiz certificate if you have achieved a pass. The email lists each question, your response, and the correct answer, so you can see where there are gaps in your knowledge, and repair them.
