There could be any number of reasons your applications are unsuccessful so far. Let’s have a look at a few of them;-

Perhaps there are more excellent candidates for advertised positions than there are positions. This may be a function of budgetary considerations, leading to a contraction in the number of vacancies.

Review the market and consider whether this is the case. If so, there is not a lot you can do other than “up your game” in the selection process,

Perhaps the successful candidates have some specific skills, experience or qualifications that you don’t have, or at least have not showcased to their best effect on your application.

You can ask recruiters for feedback. Write a polite letter or email thanking them for their time in the process and asking for some feedback on your application and why it failed. At least then you know what you need to deal with!

Make sure you do keep your qualifications up to date and relevant. Many areas of work call for continual professional development and this is one way of making sure your CV looks good.

Are you applying for the right positions? Are you over or under qualified for them? Again, feedback from recruiters should help you to pinpoint that.

Or perhaps your application itself is not polished enough. Do you write a good, personalised cover letter with each application? Is your CV the best it can be?
